The Job Preparation and Placement Counsellor (JPPC) works with a wide variety of local employers on behalf of clients to place them in employment opportunities. The JPC provides employers with information, specifically, to advocate the advantages of hiring clients from the employment services and the value that they bring to their organization. Continually develops job placement opportunities for program participants while promoting clients of diverse backgrounds through Job Carving, Job Development, and Job Matching by assessing “fit” with the position and organization.

We are looking for a Contract Full-time, Job Preparation & Placement Counsellor for our Etobicoke branch.

**Key Job Functions**
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of Employment Ontario services and labor market trends to support and advocate for clients, engaging with employers to create sustainable employment opportunities.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of program eligibility and available supports to meet the diverse needs of job seekers.
- Provide ongoing employment preparation support, ensuring continuous engagement by documenting progress in individualized employment action plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes.
- Complete administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and processing financial supports and maintaining client files to ensure compliance.
- Coach and motivate clients throughout their job search and job placements, guiding them toward meaningful and sustainable employment.
- Stay current with labor market trends and industry developments to support effective job development and service coordination.
- Build and strengthen relationships with employers across diverse industries, actively developing job placement opportunities through proactive outreach and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the Employer Liaison to match clients with suitable job opportunities, supporting placements with both internal and external employers.
- Play a critical role in helping the branch achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) by securing job placements, increasing employer partnerships, and ensuring client retention in employment.
- Focus on supporting individuals with significant employment barriers, including persons with disabilities, individuals with criminal records, long-term unemployed individuals, newcomers, and other vulnerable job seekers, ensuring they receive tailored support and equitable access to employment opportunities.
- Actively engage in cold calling and outreach to employers to promote job seekers, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and persuasive communication.
- Drive job placement outcomes to meet and exceed targets.
- Perform other duties as required.
