For the past 80 years, Camp Kannawin has been providing memorable summer camp experiences for children aged 6-14. Owned by the Presbyterian Church in Canada, we offer a diverse range of activities including canoeing, swimming, archery, robotics, field sports, hiking, and much more. Our camps operate in July, with employment opportunities from June through August.

Located on the picturesque shores of Sylvan Lake, just outside of Red Deer and adjacent to Jarvis Bay Provincial Park, Camp Kannawin is set in a beautiful natural environment.

Our camp is situated on Treaty 6 territory, and we respectfully acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and non-First Nations whose footsteps have marked these lands.

**Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Preference will be given to university students and individuals under the age of 25.**

**Job Title**: Kitchen Coordinator
**Status**: Seasonal Full Time
**Minimum Age Requirement**: 18 years
**Reports to**: Camp Director, Camp Administrator

**Job Summary**:
The Kitchen Coordinator supports a welcoming dining environment by organizing food deliveries, serving meals, preparing snacks, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen space. This role does **not** involve cooking, as meals are catered.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum age: 18
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Experience in kitchen or food service is an asset
- Food Safe Handling Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid/CPR-C with AED (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong hospitality, teamwork, and communication skills
- Comfortable in a Christian, youth-focused camp environment
- Ability to lift 20 lbs and navigate stairs
- Adherence to safety and hygiene standards
- Must wear proper kitchen attire

**Responsibilities**:

- Receive, organize, and serve catered meals
- Prepare basic snacks and baked goods
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
- Monitor inventory and food storage
- Assist with daily tuck and kitchen laundry
- Support campers with dietary needs
- Collaborate with KREW and volunteers
- Participate in camp activities and community life
- Complete required logs and checklists
- Attend training and team meetings
- Other duties as assigned

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
