**About the Role**
This is a part time role working 3 days (24 hours) per week.
Our competitive compensation package offers $26 to $32 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Payroll Processing**: Processing biweekly and semimonthly payroll for our non-unionized locations across Canada.
- **Internal Customer Service**: Act as the primary contact for resolving payroll-related employee queries and coordinate with managers and the HR team to process employee records accurately and efficiently.
- **Data Integrity**: Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of payroll records; proficiently use payroll software for data management, perform payroll reconciliations, and update records as per policy changes or employee information adjustments.
- **Compliance and Reporting**: Oversee payroll compliance with federal and provincial regulations, handle government remittances, including those to the CRA and British Columbia's Employer Health Tax
- Reconcile G/L accounts, generate ROEs and ensure smooth year-end activities including T4 issuance.
- **Benefits Administration**: Administer Manulife Group Benefits and RRSP programs, including enrollments, terminations, and adjustments, ensuring accurate payroll deductions, and preparing remittances for benefits and contributions. Oversee Long-Term Disability leaves administration and serve as a key contact for resolving any benefits-related issues between Manulife and employees.
- **Personal Development and Team Support**: Continuously update knowledge on payroll legislation and best practices through professional development, contribute to departmental strategies, and support various initiatives and special projects as needed.
- **Flexibility in Scheduling**: Available to work increased hours to cover for team vacations, absences, or during peak periods to ensure uninterrupted payroll and benefits administration.
- **Communication and Service Excellence**: Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with a strong focus on solving problems and providing support.
- **Legislation and Compliance Knowledge**: Deep understanding of provincial payroll legislation, audit requirements, and the ability to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
- **Data Administration**: Proficient in data entry and analysis, emphasizing accuracy and detail.
- **Work Style**: Superior multitasking abilities, with a talent for managing priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, taking initiative and demonstrating accountability.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, with ADP Workforce Now experience beneficial.
- **Experience and Education**: 3-5 years in a similar role with 3 years interprovincial payroll experience and Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification preferred. Sales industry background is a plus.
