Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall operating performance of the production operations on one or more lines which includes steel doors, fibre glass doors, and door cut-outs. This role is also responsible for working with the Plant Manager to streamline the efficiency of production with emphasis on quality, waste reduction in the plant, improving financial results, training/coaching of production employees as required while maintaining a safe working environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversees all manufacturing process, continuous improvement strategies and training procedures to assure consistency of operational tasks, cost reduction, space utilization and the safety and cleanliness of the workplace
- Tracks productivity week to week for measured shift efficiency and improvement
- Maintain production schedules and arrange for production adjustments as required
- Accountable for communication, training employees, schedules and supervising 40 or more production employees;
- Assigns, monitors and directs work, training and coaching procedures, leveraging team and individual strengths, responsible for managing performance; addressing complaints and solving problems to ensure high performance results
- Review production performance, assure compliance with quality practices, ensure quality and H&S standards are met
- Tracks product to schedule shift performance and strives for continual improvement
- Oversees adherence to inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy goals are constantly achieved
- Improve safety, quality, cost, waste reduction, efficiency, etc. using continuous improvement methodology
- Inspect operating machinery & equipment periodically (and specifically after repairs) to ensure that they are running safely and according to specifications
- Complete Production reports as required
- Works directly with Plant Manager and cross-functionally with the Quality team on projects to improve quality, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses
- Responsible for coordination, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the department/team and creating a positive climate where people want to do their best
- Report quality related issues to the Plant Manager

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years relative experience as a Production Supervisor
- Available full-time (40 hours per week)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Bilingual
