ICI Project Manager – Eastern Ontario

In this senior role, you will be responsible for all aspects of construction project management including client relations, estimation, planning, scheduling, risk assessment, quality control, site safety, supplier and subcontractor coordination, purchasing, supervision, layout and contract administration. The performance of these duties must ensure a quality approach to all employees, customers, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and owners. As a growing and entrepreneurial company, the successful candidate will be expected to prove their worth early through action, intelligence and ability. They must find their fit with the team and show how they can move forward both the projects they are assigned and the company itself. The Project Manager, in coordination with the VP of Construction and, occasionally, a Site Superintendent, is responsible for identifying issues, designing, and carrying out policies and procedures that support the projects and initiatives of the company.
This position is full-time, permanent, and will be located on site in Eastern Ontario regions for the duration of the project (Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry, Prescott & Russell, Leeds & Grenville). Health and retirement benefits are available following a probationary period. Training and on-going education are provided and encouraged.
Responsibilities:
- Able to fully understand the construction of the project from the contract specifications and drawings.
- Prepare the project budget, schedule, and project execution plan and identify any potential risks prior to the project starting and throughout its life cycle. Act in an advisory capacity to the site team when they have questions about the job.
- Ensure that all work has been performed according to the job specifications and any subsequent changes which have been approved.
- Review shop drawings and submissions from suppliers and subcontractors submit to consultant for review and track shop drawings updating versions for the site teams as changes occur and are approved.
- Ability to lead by example, educate, coach, develop and direct workers with specific, timely instructions and feedback.
- Check the quality of work along the way regarding specifications and building code.
- Lead the implementation, management and monitoring of the safety programs.
- Be a proactive problem-solver.
- Other tasks as required.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of work experience as a Project Manager in the ICI sector, preferably be as a General Contractor and not as an Owner’s Representative or a Subcontractor.
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHSA regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and technical skills with a focus on teamwork.
- Driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Clear criminal record.
- Good physical condition sufficient to meet the demands of the role.
- WHMIS 2015 certification, Working at Heights certification, Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness.
- A Carpenter’s license is highly desirable but not required.
