**JOB DESCRIPTION: SITE SUPERINTENDENT**

This position is full-time, permanent, and will be located on site in Cornwall or the surrounding Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry regions for the duration of the project. Health and retirement benefits are available following a probationary period. Training and on-going education are provided and encouraged.

**Responsibilities**:

- Able to work with contract documents and prepare the layout of the project.
- Plan, organize and assign work to be done by own crews and subtrades.
- Ability to lead by example, educate, coach, develop and direct workers with specific, timely instructions and feedback.
- Monitor crew’s productivity, track hours for work performed.
- Check the quality of work along the way with respect to specifications and building code.
- Lead the implementation, management and monitoring of safety programs.
- Manage, receive and report materials on site.
- Manage the storage, security and maintenance of specific tools and manuals.
- Be a proactive problem-solver, draft RFIs, manage SIs and COs, as-builts etc.
- Other tasks as required.

**Requirements**:

- Proven ICI construction management experience (minimum 10 years). This experience could include work as an Assistant Site Superintendent, Senior Carpenter/Foreman, Site Superintendent, or Construction Project Manager.
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHSA regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and technical skills with a focus on teamwork.
- Driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Clear criminal record.
- Good physical condition sufficient to meet the demands of the role.
- WHMIS 2015 certification, Working at Heights certification, Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness.

Bourgon Construction is a privately-owned, mid-sized regional ICI construction company offering general contracting, project management and design/build services to clients located across Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa region. We employ 50 people working out of offices in Cornwall and Kingston. We typically focus on institutional, commercial and multi-residential projects in the $1M to $50M range.

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- construction: 3 years (preferred)
