This position plays a leadership and coordination role in the Office of the Chief Innovation Officer and reports directly to the CIO. Additionally, it provides leadership by anticipating and mitigating issues and actionable items within the Office of the CIO’s portfolio and across the portfolio. This position facilitates the effective output of the CIO and Innovation Directors in meeting their accountabilities and act on their behalf where appropriate in fulfilling those accountabilities. Providing leadership and support in developing, communicating, and implementing department initiatives. Developing and completing a wide range of documents to support the CIO and the portfolio including, but not limited to briefing notes, formal reports, presentations, meeting materials, speaking notes, creating reports to the Board of Directors. Manage critical issues within the portfolio and for the organization. The position also serves as a key point of contact in the department for external and internal stakeholders to ensure information is prioritized, collected, collated and disseminated. This position develops work plans to identify issues or gaps within the portfolio to support its priorities or that of the organizations’ strategic framework as it relates to the Innovation portfolio. Accountabilities include collecting, synthesizing, and communicating information related to specific requests, correspondence or projects. In addition, the position facilitates operational functions of the Office of the CIO, including but not limited to general correspondence, finances, and records management. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in a health care management or business required. A minimum of four years health care, government, or related experience required.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Covenant’s mission, vision and values. A high degree of independence in decision making and creativity is required. A clear vision of the health system and continuum of care. Intuitively understands the need to create win/win situations and is committed to presenting a professional, positive demeanor in all interactions. Must be flexible and able to determine and manage multiple competing priorities due to a wide variety of responsibilities. Exceptional communication (written and verbal). Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership. Project management experience. Effective change management skills. Ability to adapt quickly and apply new learning. Broad knowledge of planning and operations. Ability to maintain a professional level of diplomacy, confidentiality and tact in all activities. Ability to function and thrive in a dynamic fast paced environment with a high level of complexity and pressure.


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in health services administration, business, or other equivalent preparation preferred. Health care experience and systems knowledge an asset. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
