Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

HSC is Manitoba’s largest health facility and is Manitoba’s provincial tertiary center for trauma, transplants, burns, neurosciences, complex cancer care, and pediatric care with Manitoba’s first hospital-based heliport and the largest and busiest emergency departments in the province with over 115,000 visits per year.

The Chief Administration Officer, HSC Winnipeg will:

  • Work with other members of the Executive Team, under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer to administer the affairs and oversee the operation of the Health Sciences Centre.
  • Be responsible for the co-leadership with the other Executives at the Health Sciences Centre.
  • Ensure the sound administration of the Health Sciences Centre, including direct responsibility for corporate services and non-clinical support services.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive administrative, management, and leadership experience in a related professional field in a healthcare setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Professional Accounting Designation and/or Master’s Degree in an applicable field (e.g. Business or Health Care Administration).
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated executive leadership capabilities.
  • Strong strategic leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Experience working in a complex and fast-paced environment with strong people management skills.
  • Represent the Chief Operating Officer and the Health Sciences Centre as required.
  • Accept delegated responsibilities from the Chief Operating Officer as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
