We are a nonprofit organization advocating for retired teachers.  Our mission is to ensure well-being for our members through strong advocacy and support services. 

The purpose of the BCRTA is to promote the members' interests, provide information and advice to members on retirement programmes and benefits, communicate to members the activities of the Association and issues of common interest, and promote excellence in public education. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Greet and assist members and visitors with professionalism and care. 
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and voicemails, providing clear and helpful information. 
  • Support members with inquiries about pensions, benefits, and insurance programs. 
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming reception area. 
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry and document scanning. 
  • Manage mail, couriers, and office supplies. 
  •  

What You Bring 

  • Experience in reception, customer service, or administration (nonprofit experience is a plus). 
  • Strong spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and patient approach. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • A passion for working with and supporting retired educators. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
