Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor-Continuing to join our team at School District #39 (Vancouver). As a Counsellor-Continuing, you will provide support to students, staff, and families in our elementary and secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counselling services to students, addressing a range of issues including academic, social, and emotional concerns.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement student support plans.
  • Consult with parents and guardians to provide guidance and support on student-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and organizations to access resources and services for students and families.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in counselling and student support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education degree.
  • Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology or School Counselling, with a supervised clinical practicum/internship (minimum 400 hours).
  • Teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level is an asset.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in counselling children and consulting with school staff and parents.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of programs and services for families in the district and community.
