About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Counsellor to join our team at School District #39 (Vancouver). As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counselling services to students, addressing a range of issues including academic, personal, and social concerns.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive school counselling programs, aligned with the British Columbia Ministry of Education's guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child's progress and providing guidance on how to support their child's academic and personal growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in school counselling, attending professional development opportunities and participating in ongoing training and education.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Counselling or a related field.
  • BC Certification as a School Counsellor.
  • Proven experience in school counselling, with a strong understanding of the British Columbia curriculum and educational system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
