We are seeking a qualified Counsellor-Continuing to join our team at School District #39 (Vancouver). The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to students, parents, and staff in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counselling services to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement student support plans.
- Conduct assessments and develop strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school counselling.
- Bachelor of Education degree.
- Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology or School Counselling with a supervised clinical practicum/internship (minimum 400 hours).
- Teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level is an asset.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in counselling children and consulting with school staff and parents.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of programs and services for families in the district and community.
