About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Counsellor-Continuing to join our team at School District #39 (Vancouver). As a Counsellor-Continuing, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counselling services to students, addressing a range of issues including academic, social, and emotional concerns.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive school counselling programs, aligning with the district's education plan and equity statement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Consult with parents and guardians to provide guidance and support, promoting student success and well-being.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in school counselling, incorporating evidence-based approaches and Indigenous perspectives into your work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education degree.
  • Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology or School Counselling, with a supervised clinical practicum/internship (minimum 400 hours).
  • Teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level is an asset.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in counselling children and consulting with school staff and parents.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of programs and services for families in the district and community.
