Job Title: LTO Educational Assistant

We are seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to support our students in a long-term substitute capacity.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide educational support to students with special needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including academic and behavioral support
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
  • Support students with physical and emotional needs, including lifting, positioning, and providing emotional support
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • EA Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Ability to lift, position, and support students with physical needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
  • Lifting/Positioning Training
  • Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification
