Job Title: LTO Educational Assistant

We are seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to support our students in a long-term substitute capacity.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide educational support to students with special needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including academic and behavioral support
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementation
  • Monitor and report on student progress
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans
  • Support the physical and emotional needs of students, including lifting and positioning
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma in a child-related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift and position students
Preferred Qualifications:

Autism Spectrum Disorder Training, Lifting/Positioning Training, and Vulnerable Sector Check are assets in this role.
