Job Title: Educational Assistant - Long Term Occasional

We are seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to join our team as a Long Term Occasional (LTO) staff member. The successful candidate will provide support to students with special needs and work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding
  • Support students with behavioral challenges and develop strategies to promote positive behavior
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in a child-related field, such as education, child and youth work, or a related field
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with children with special needs
  • Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
