Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at Argus Machine Co. Ltd. as a key member of our maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment, and will work closely with our maintenance supervisors to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, as per our preventative maintenance schedules and task sheets.
  • Deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services, meeting customer requirements and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Evaluate the condition of our machinery and equipment, reporting any concerns to our maintenance supervisors.
  • Troubleshoot and provide emergency repairs on machines that are not functioning properly, advising downtime information to our maintenance supervisors.
  • Read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to assess machine functionality and assist in making repairs and adjustments.
  • Advise our maintenance supervisors or manager of any machine parts or specialty tools that need to be ordered to keep our equipment running.
  • Operate all machines and equipment within our shops, using shop tools as required to determine and deliver maintenance needs.
  • Work to deliver and achieve departmental KPIs on a monthly and annual basis, and collaborate with the team to identify and deliver improvements as required.
Requirements
  • Registered Journeyman Certificate in the Millwright trade.
  • At least 3 years' experience operating machine tools or equipment.
  • High school diploma and/or other relevant trade credentials would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Machine shop environment with extended walking/standing, limited sitting.
  • Working while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
