District Sales Manager

Are you a sales professional looking for a new challenge? Emerson is seeking a dedicated candidate to fill a District Sales Manager role in Ontario. As a key member of our Discrete Automation Salesforce, you will be responsible for leading and growing an established territory with a complex customer base. Key Responsibilities:
- Sell and promote our portfolio of products, including ASCO, Aventics, TopWorx, and Tescom, to end users, OEMs, consultants, and channel partners.
- Establish and build long-term relationships with decision-makers, channel partners, and customers to ensure business continuity.
- Focus on customer satisfaction and retention, driving key and target account programs, and managing allocated sales activities and targets.
- Measure and monitor channel performance, ensuring distributors maintain acceptable stocking levels, and recommend distribution changes to management.
- Manage day-to-day account business, new account setup, net price management, and assist with collection on overdue accounts.
- Identify new opportunities, applications, markets, and solutions, and answer technical inquiries to promote and secure sales volume growth of our products.
- Prepare detailed quotations, track and follow up on proposals, and submit verbal and written reports covering sales calls, competitor activity, products, potential customers, and customer needs.
Requirements:
- University degree in Engineering or a related field, or a College degree in Instrumentation & Controls, Automation, or a related field.
- 3+ years of technical sales experience in mechanical/electrical automation or process industry.
- Strong presentation, communication, and networking skills, both in-person and virtually.
- Possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Must excel in relationship building, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Must be open to traveling 75% annually within the region.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to travel up to 75% annually, mostly within assigned districts, but also including occasional travel to other Canadian locations or the United States.
