Job SummaryThis is a senior management position responsible for the oversight of planning, sales, operations, human resources, budgets, business targets, quality control, and major customer account relationships for our Greater Vancouver area ready mix concrete operations.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Excellence: Manage the operations to maintain a competitive position in the market, ensuring efficient use of resources and continuous improvement.
- Safety and Health: Proactively manage safety and health initiatives to promote the highest level of safety and continuously improve the company's performance.
- Capital Management: Manage capital and fixed asset programs, set strategies to leverage the efficient use of assets, and oversee the development of AFEs.
- Leadership and Development: Provide leadership and direction in the effective recruiting, training, and development of staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders, recognizing and adapting to changing customer needs and emerging market trends.
- Collaboration and Communication: Effectively participate in cross-business teams and other initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the overall Canada Region goals, ensuring open and transparent communication.
- Labour Relations: Negotiate collective agreements and manage labour relations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures, including implementation of Group guidelines and monitoring compliance.
- Community Engagement: Maintain relationships with the local community, industry organizations, and regulatory bodies, promoting a positive image of the company.
- Education and Experience: Post-secondary degree combined with 7-10 years' experience in a management role, preferably in the building materials industry.
- Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Advanced interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and think strategically, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of concrete products, manufacturing processes, quality control, and equipment, as well as experience in mining and processing of aggregates.
- Financial Management: Demonstrated competence in financial management, performance management, problem-solving, and decision-making, with a strong focus on budgeting and cost control.
- Communication and Verbal Skills: Proficient in customer management, with strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
