At Capitol Banquet Centre, we are seeking a skilled Executive Chef to lead our banquet operations team. As an essential member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food and service standards in our banquet halls.

About the Role

This is a permanent position with an estimated salary range of $55,000-$70,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The ideal candidate will have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role and possess excellent cooking skills, attention to detail, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Organize buffets and banquets
  • Manage kitchen operations
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent cooking skills
  • Leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with East Indian cuisine
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
