Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and high-quality food preparation.
  • Monitor and maintain food safety and quality control standards, ensuring that all kitchen staff follow proper procedures and protocols.
  • Coordinate morning prep lists and front-line setup to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure that all guests receive friendly and efficient service.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Implement risk management procedures and ensure that all kitchen staff follow safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Promote Whitewater's safety culture by reviewing and updating department manuals, CDPP, and employee handbooks as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal standards and regulations related to equipment, safety, and OHS practices.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a food preparation role in a professional dining establishment.
  • Previous experience leading a line and ensuring food and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Food Safe or other food handling certification is an asset.
