About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Information Management and Technology department, you will be responsible for evaluating, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information management and technology solutions, projects, and services across our organization.

You will collaborate with key clinical and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs, develop and implement solutions, and ensure that our technology infrastructure meets the needs of our patients, staff, and partners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems analysis, business analysis, and healthcare IT, with experience in application programming, data integration, and data management. You will be able to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and prioritize business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Design, test, implement, and maintain information management and technology solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs and develop solutions
  • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis, or Health Related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Technology, Business Analysis, or Health Related field
  • 2+ years' experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support
  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Python,.NET, SQL, CCL
  • Experience cleansing and standardizing large data sets
  • Experience in data integration between legacy and new systems, data management, information lifecycle, and implementing of data standards
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, including data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset
  • Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management an asset
