Compensation

The salary range for this position is $80 - $96 per visit.*

VHA's Occupational Therapist provides consultation, assessment, and planned interventions for diverse client groups across Southern Ontario and the capital region. This role works within a continuous quality improvement framework, promoting good public relations with clients, customers, and VHA staff, volunteers, and associates.

Key Areas of Accountability

The key areas of accountability for this role include:

  • Implementing occupational therapy interventions in accordance with professional practice guidelines and standards established by VHA and the regulatory college.
  • Ensuring that services provided are best practice, evidence-based, and evaluated through the routine use of valid and reliable outcome measures.
  • Coordinating delivery of care through ongoing communication with all members of the client's team regarding plans and schedules for interventions.
  • Documenting all assessment findings, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries of interventions as required by the profession, referral source, and the organization.
  • Supporting safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Valid Driver's License with access to a vehicle.
  • Compassionate and empathetic individual.
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently.
  • Skilled in caseload management.
  • Skilled at electronic documentation.
  • Able to provide virtual care.
