Job Description
This Clinical Communication Specialist position involves providing consultation, assessment, and planned interventions for diverse client groups across Southern Ontario and the Capital region. You will work within a continuous quality improvement framework, reflecting VHA's vision and mission while promoting good public relations with clients, customers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for assessing and diagnosing clients in all age groups through standardized and non-standardized tests, devising and implementing individualized treatment programs based on case history and assessment results, monitoring client progress, and evaluating treatment on an ongoing basis. You will also counsel and educate clients, caregivers, and family members regarding communication deficits, identify and teach self-management strategies, and discuss clinically significant information with healthcare teams.
Required Qualifications
A Master's Degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology is required, along with membership in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario. You should have a minimum of two years' clinical experience, knowledge of community care requirements, and expertise in managing complex communication disorders.
