About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team at Avison Young. As a key member of our global compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization operates in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective compliance programs and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
  2. Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that compliance requirements are integrated into business processes and procedures.
  4. Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance policies and procedures.
  5. Monitor and report on compliance metrics and trends to senior management.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay up-to-date on changing regulations and industry best practices.
  7. Lead the development and implementation of compliance-related projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  1. 8+ years of experience in a compliance or risk management role, preferably in a multinational organization.
  2. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards, particularly in the commercial real estate sector.
  3. Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance programs and policies.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  5. Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and industry standards in a commercial context.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  7. Master's degree in a business-related field, such as law, finance, or accounting.
