Senior Compliance Officer, Programs

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Officer to join our Global Banking and Markets (GBM) and Treasury (T) Compliance team in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential risks and ensure effective compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop reports, dashboards, and other tools to support compliance efforts.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to measure compliance program effectiveness.
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues on compliance policies and procedures.
- Assist with regulatory inquiries and responses, and maintain accurate records of compliance-related activities.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education and/or professional designations in a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with data visualization tools.
