Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer, Programs

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Officer to join our Global Banking and Markets (GBM) and Treasury (T) Compliance team in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the development and implementation of compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  2. Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential risks and ensure effective compliance.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop reports, dashboards, and other tools to support compliance efforts.
  4. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to measure compliance program effectiveness.
  5. Provide training and guidance to colleagues on compliance policies and procedures.
  6. Assist with regulatory inquiries and responses, and maintain accurate records of compliance-related activities.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education and/or professional designations in a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with data visualization tools.
