Job Title: Global Compliance Officer

Reporting to the global Chief Operating Officer, the Compliance Officer (Global) plays a critical role in driving the achievement of Avison Young's objectives and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides strategic and creative input to ensure AY objectives are developed and met.
  • Responsible for overall management of Avison Young Compliance, including Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-bribery, Sanctions Checking, and other Regulatory Accountability.
  • Responsible for internal audit of processes and practices.
  • Manages efficient and effective relationships with governing agencies.
  • Works with Avison Young executives and compliance team members to implement the corporate compliance agenda across national markets.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years proven managerial experience in a multi-national risk and compliance function.
  • Strong experience, knowledge, and skill in understanding regulatory issues.
  • Commercial Real Estate experience required.
  • History of monitoring ethics hotlines, preferably NAVEX experience.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory guidance in a commercial context.
  • Ability to communicate at a board level on strategic regulatory issues.
  • Proven experience in dealing with client complaints and liability insurance claims.
  • Masters Degree in a business-related discipline.
  • Corporate Compliance Professional accreditation by Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, preferably CCEP-I designation.
