Job Summary:

The Banquet Server - Hospitality Expert is a key member of the Coast Hotels team, responsible for ensuring the efficient setup of meeting rooms for all Food & Beverage functions on the banquet floor. This role requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup: Set up rooms according to banquet event orders, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Serve banquet meals to guests, ensuring that all food and beverage items meet the Coast Hotels standards for freshness, appearance, and consistency.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain a positive work environment within the Banquet Team, promoting a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to provincial liquor control laws, food safety regulations, and hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the Banquet Captain/Banquet Manager, receiving and acting upon food service instructions in a timely manner.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required to support the success of the Banquet Team.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in a similar position, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Certifications: Serving It Right Certification or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Education: Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended.
  • Skills: Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, and a customer service philosophy.
  • Language: Strong English language communication skills.
  • Availability: Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
