Job Summary:
The Banquet Server is a key member of the Food and Beverage team at Coast Hotels, responsible for ensuring the efficient setup of meeting rooms for all Food & Beverage functions on the banquet floor. This role requires a high level of customer service, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room Setup: Ensure that meeting rooms are set up according to banquet event orders, paying close attention to detail and presentation.
- Food and Beverage Service: Serve banquet meals to guests, ensuring that all food and beverage items meet the high standards of Coast Hotels for freshness, appearance, and consistency.
- Teamwork and Communication: Maintain a positive and cooperative work environment within the Banquet Team, communicating effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless service.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding promptly to their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to provincial liquor control laws and food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required, including maintaining a high level of organization and prioritizing tasks effectively.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Certifications: Serving It Right Certification or equivalent is mandatory.
- Skills and Knowledge: Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication skills.
- Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Working Conditions:
This role requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Banquet Server must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
