Job Summary:

The Banquet Server is a key member of the Food and Beverage team at Coast Hotels, responsible for ensuring the efficient setup of meeting rooms for all Food & Beverage functions on the banquet floor. This role requires a high level of customer service, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room Setup: Ensure that meeting rooms are set up according to banquet event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Serve banquet meals to guests, ensuring that all food and beverage items meet the hotel's standards for freshness, appearance, and consistency.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Maintain a positive work environment within the Banquet Team, communicating effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless service.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Adherence to Policies: Adhere to provincial liquor control laws, food safety regulations, and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Food and Beverage team.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Certifications: Serving It Right Certification or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
