Position: Senior Import Coordinator

Department: Production

Reports To: Sourcing/Imports Director

Overview:

The Senior Import Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing the flow of information between external and internal supply chain partners. This position is essential for ensuring that all critical milestones in the production timeline are achieved, facilitating the timely delivery of both sale samples and bulk production. As the central point of communication within the supply chain, the coordinator must ensure prompt communication and maintain follow-up tools such as Time and Action Calendars, Import Trackers, and Momentis, while proactively addressing any potential issues with management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily communication with supply chain partners to ensure timely updates.
  • Oversee the progress of lab dips, prototype samples, fabrics, accessories, pre-production samples, production samples, and lab test results to guarantee timely responses.
  • Develop and manage Action Calendars and Import Trackers to monitor progress.
  • Generate and update Purchase Orders in Momentis, ensuring the system reflects the latest changes.
  • Compile and revise Cost Sheet Spreadsheets as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Traffic regarding booking approvals or rejections.
  • Review vendor manuals from customers to ensure compliance with shipment requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an import coordinator within the apparel industry.
  • Strong understanding of import regulations relevant to North American markets.

Skills:

  • Highly organized, proactive, and dedicated.
  • A collaborative team player capable of engaging with factories, mills, agents, quality assurance, design teams, logistics, accounting, sales, and other departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Momentis.
  • Ability to foresee challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with garment and fabric construction, terminology, quality assurance processes, production cycles, and laboratory testing requirements.

Education:

  • College education; a Bachelor of Commerce degree is advantageous.
