The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively coordinating a team of maintenance trades people and specialists to conduct all required activities associated with maintaining the quarry and plant facility.



Key Responsibilities



  • Provide leadership to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, personnel, quality, and efficiency.
  • Foster a positive working environment and empower the maintenance team.
  • Review and organize training requirements to develop the skills and capabilities of the maintenance team.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe and efficient manner by providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Act as a technical resource and coach to maintenance team members and peers.
  • Manage long- and short-term planning, scheduling, and processes in partnership with production departments.
  • Deploy personnel and resources to ensure the weekly maintenance schedule is executed effectively.
  • Support the plant reliability program to enable short- and long-term success in proactive asset management.
  • Take direct control in managing emergency maintenance activities.
  • Effectively manage contractors on site performing maintenance activities.
  • Participate in communication and coordination between maintenance, production, management, and other functional groups within Graymont.
  • Monitor various KPIs to measure effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate and work with production personnel to ensure equipment up-time is maintained at the highest possible standards.
  • Contribute to maintenance budgeting and ensure costs are well managed.
  • Perform 'on-call' duties on rotation with the supervisory team.

Qualifications



  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to learn and work effectively in a team environment.
  • College or University degree in a related field, or Journeyman, with heavy industrial experience (maintenance, production or engineering) and preferably supervisory experience.
  • High aptitude in the use of various computer software, including CMMS systems.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to self-direct and prioritize tasks.

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the location.
