We are seeking an experienced Labour and Employment Lawyer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis.

The Role:
This role will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice on a broad range of labour & employee relations initiatives, ensuring compliance with various employment legislation, and maintaining focus on changes in the Canada Labour Code.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated legal advice and support to the Human Resources and Labour Relations teams on various aspects of the employee lifecycle, including hiring, performance management, employee relations, compensation, progressive discipline and termination.
- Maintain focus on changes in the Canada Labour Code, and related jurisprudence, which may require amendments to policies and procedures in the workplace.
- Provide interpretative support, training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legislative initiatives and changes.
- Liaise with the broader corporate legal team.
- Interpret and advise internal clients on laws and regulations pertaining to employment and labour, including but not limited to health and safety, and pay equity.
- Review, revise and draft internal processes, policies, procedures and templates.
- Collaborate and manage external law firms when support is required.
What You'll Get:
This opportunity offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as access to a wide range of training opportunities focused on individual development and interests.
Qualifications:
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in the field of labour and employment law, with a strong Labour experience.
- Member of Law Society of Ontario in good standing.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain federal government security clearance.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of federal employment and labour laws and regulations to provide sound legal advice and representation.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Adherence to integrity and ethics in handling sensitive and confidential information while adhering to legal standards and law.
- Research skills to gather and analyze relevant case studies, legal precedents, and labour regulations for effective case handling.
