Recreational Programs Manager

Welcome to Southbridge Care Homes, a leading provider of long-term care services in Southwestern Ontario. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recreational Programs Manager to join our team at our Pickering, Ontario location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreational programs for residents, including activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, and outdoor recreation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of recreational staff, including volunteers and contractors.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to resident care.
  • Assess departmental needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Manage the department's budget and resources.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of restorative care, holistic care, activation, and dementia care principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
