Recreational Programs Manager

Welcome to Southbridge Care Homes, a leading provider of long-term care services in Southwestern Ontario. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recreational Programs Manager to join our team at our Pickering, Ontario location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, direct, and supervise the department's programs and staff, ensuring a high level of quality and resident satisfaction.
  • Implement and evaluate programs related to the five P.I.E.S.S domains, ensuring alignment with our organization's goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate therapeutic program development and delivery in collaboration with other departments, promoting a holistic approach to care.
  • Assess departmental needs and develop action plans to address them, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and supervise departmental/program staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Develop and implement programming budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Actively participate in program delivery, ensuring a high level of resident engagement and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or a related field from a community college or university.
  • Knowledge of restorative care, holistic care, activation, and dementia care concepts.
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience, with a proven track record of success in planning, developing, and evaluating programs for frail, elderly residents.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, with a command of the English and French languages.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner, with a focus on quality and resident satisfaction.
