Job Title: Senior Business Analyst, News Operations

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our News Operations team at CBC/Radio-Canada. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in projects that are essential to delivering the capabilities that CBC News requires to realize its mission and audience strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gather, define, and document business requirements and user needs using inclusive facilitation and discovery methods.
  • Prioritize problems and opportunities according to capacity, resources, and benefits.
  • Configure and implement new tools and workflows using qualitative and quantitative data that meet business requirements and improve the user experience.
  • Support change management initiatives by ensuring users' needs and feedback are addressed.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and teams across the organization to ensure priorities are aligned and requirements are clearly defined and communicated.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in the field of Information Science and/or equivalent experience and training.
  • Experience in change management and continuous improvement.
  • Experienced/familiar with facilitation and discovery methods to identify pain points and opportunities to improve tools, workflows, and processes in media production.
  • Experienced/familiar with media production and publication processes in a news environment.
  • Experienced/familiar with structured metadata and leveraging metadata-driven workflows to improve content discovery and distribution.
