About the Role

We are seeking a Policy Research and Initiatives Advisor to provide expert and strategic policy support and advice to the Department. The successful candidate will lead policy and program development initiatives, develop policy options and recommendations, and provide strategic advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop program policies and implementation strategies for initiatives.
  • Develop and execute program evaluations, managing both internal and external resources.
  • Develop and assess strategic policy decisions, managing both internal and external resources.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams to develop and implement Branch, Department, and Corporate priorities and programs.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate legislation and policies in a local, provincial, and federal context.
  • Collect, analyze, manipulate, and manage information and data and associated systems.
  • Interpret and provide policies, programs, or initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • University degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, or related field.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in conducting financial analysis and producing program evaluations.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and reviewing reports/studies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Department's policies, services, and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of provincial legislative, regulatory, and policy framework.
