About the Role:
Interior Health is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join our team in Kelowna. As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a key role in protecting the health of our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and risk assessments to identify factors detrimental to community and environmental health.
- Enforce applicable health legislation, policies and standards.
- Provide consultation, education and enforcement to prevent the occurrence of disease, injury and public exposure to health hazards.
- Investigate complaints and undertake investigations on public health related issues and environmental control matters.
- Prepare reports on investigational and inspectional work performed.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in environmental health or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of health legislation, policies and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
