Freight Brokerage Executive Opportunity

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a seasoned Freight Brokerage Executive to join our client's team in Dieppe, New Brunswick. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for overseeing the freight brokerage and 3PL services, working closely with the Irving Group of Companies and the sales team to identify new business opportunities and drive strategic growth and expansion throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish the strategic direction of the Freight Brokerage division, in partnership with the executive team, to grow the division while delivering on performance and projected financial results.

• Assist, coach, mentor, and lead the team to achieve goals and stretch targets, ensuring a stable quality of carriers throughout North America.

• Oversee the development of professional relationships with rail and intermodal service providers, ensuring all carriers are compliant with the Irving requirements.

• Work closely with the IGM Corporate VP of Supply Chain and team to capture business and minimize the use of outside 3 and 4PL providers, maximizing service levels, case full, and cost reduction.

• Meet negotiated rates and services with all Freight Brokerage service providers, staying up-to-date on the competitive landscape, pricing, key customers, and industry trends.

Requirements:

• University degree with concentration in business, logistics, or equivalent experience.

• CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation or equivalent.

• 10+ years' experience leading a team of Operations, Sales, and Administrative personnel in the Freight Brokerage industry.

• Strong knowledge of the transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, LTL, TL, Courier, and warehousing industry.

• Superior communication skills, ability to influence, high degree of business acumen, strategic thinking, and tactical execution.
