About the Opportunity

Scout Talent is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Vice Principal to join our team at Tsay Keh Dene School. As a key member of our educational leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to teachers and support staff, ensuring the effective implementation of educational programs and policies.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with teachers and other stakeholders to review and develop curriculum, ensuring alignment with provincial standards and best practices.
  • Student Support: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, providing support and guidance to students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including parents, local leaders, and other organizations.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including budgeting, facilities management, and personnel administration.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in Education or Special Education, preferably with a Master's degree.
  • Teaching Experience: A minimum of two years of experience as a Vice Principal, or equivalent administrative experience or extensive teaching experience (at least seven years).
  • BC Teaching Certificate: A valid BC teaching certificate is required, or a teaching certificate from another Canadian province/territory with the ability to obtain a BC teaching certificate.
  • Skills and Experience: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote community setting.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: A highly competitive annual salary of $90,000 to $110,000, negotiable dependent on experience.
  • Benefits: A comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan and paid time off.
  • Relocation Assistance: A moving allowance of up to $1,000 and paid travel to and from the point of hire at the start and end of the contract.
