Job Title: Manager, People and Culture

About the Role:

The Pod Group is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to lead our client's people and culture initiatives. As a Manager, People and Culture, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective HR strategies that drive business results and foster a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day HR functions, including labour relations, employee engagement, occupational health and safety, and HR management.
  • Implement a people-centered strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates employees by fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and provide regular reporting on organizational performance measures.
  • Participate in employee relations strategy development and cultivate trust, accountability, individual participation, and commitment.
  • Develop tools and resources to drive talent management, including development and retention plans for top talent, employee engagement, and performance management strategies.
  • Manage attendance and absenteeism, including strategic planning to proactively address issues.
  • Support labour relations management through research, collective agreement review, and bargaining support.
  • Prepare monthly reports on KPIs, trends, risk management, outcomes, and action plans regarding organizational development and performance scorecard.

Requirements:

  • Postsecondary education with a focus on Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Human Resources role, with extensive labour relations experience and exposure to negotiations and grievance management.
  • Not-for-profit, government-funded agency experience is a strong asset.
  • Philosophy of fairness, equity, and accountability in HR approach.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Federal and Provincial Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights, etc.
  • Previous experience as an advisor to senior management on employee-related issues.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite applications and human resources information systems.
  • Provide and maintain an acceptable Criminal/Vulnerable Sector Record.
