Job Summary

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Employee Relations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Labour and Employee Relations department, ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to labour and employee relations inquiries and concerns, escalating to appropriate team members as required.
  • Draft, prepare, and mail confidential letters and other correspondence.
  • Generate and distribute regular lists and reports for union partners as required under collective agreements.
  • Prepare regular reports and summaries with program and department HR metrics and data for review with Strategic HR Business Partners.
  • Generate and post union seniority lists, researching and correcting discrepancies and escalating to the Strategic HR Business Partner as appropriate.
  • Filing confidential documents and correspondence in both physical and electronic files.
  • Entering and updating information and uploading documents and correspondence into the HRIS.
  • Coordinating employee requests to review files, including scheduling meetings and auditing files.
  • Maintaining the Labour and Employee Relations page and information on OASIS (Intranet).
  • Ensuring mail, electronic, and physical, is distributed to team members in a timely manner.
  • Providing support for special projects, annual processes, and the implementation of initiatives within the department.
  • Providing other general administrative support to the team, including supporting annual processes, submitting requisitions, general research, processing invoices, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies and equipment, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Travel to other sites may be required.
Requirements
  • Completion of a college diploma in Human Resources or Office Administration or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience in an office or administrative environment. Experience in Human Resources and/or a unionized environment preferred.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organization, administrative, reasoning, research, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills and a high degree of professionalism and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information and situations.
  • Ability to work productively, independently, and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff, patient, and environmental safety, and participation in regular in-service in this area.
