About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Organizational Development Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering best practice organization-wide employee retention and engagement strategies, programs, and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organizational development, human resources, education, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective employee engagement and retention strategies. You will be responsible for gathering data and feedback from leaders and their teams, and using this information to innovate and improve programs across various areas of focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement an organization-wide employee engagement strategy, including assessment, implementation, evaluation, and integration of programs, activities, and services.
  2. Provide leadership on the design, development, and delivery of initiatives that support and influence employee engagement and retention, including employee orientation and onboarding, employee recognition, and performance assessment.
  3. Partner with colleagues to develop and deliver an organizational learning and talent development strategy, focusing on knowledge creation, retention, and transfer.
  4. Provide strategic input and guidance on the organizational learning environment, including technological systems and policies, to ensure a positive and effective learner experience.
  5. Develop and implement policies and guidelines for areas of OD accountability, including researching best practices, analyzing trends, monitoring implementation, and identifying process improvements.
  6. Develop and deliver change management capability building programs for leaders and their teams, and participate in change management support of organizational initiatives as required.
  7. Build respectful relationships with internal team members and stakeholders across all zones, programs, networks, and portfolios through inclusive leadership practices, demonstrated expertise, ethical behavior, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  8. Continually build capabilities of self and others by creating development opportunities for training and coaching in all areas of Organizational Development.

Requirements:

  1. Graduate of a post-secondary degree/program in a related field (e.g., Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, Social or Behavioural Sciences, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and training.
  2. Certification or training in adult education, facilitation, and change management preferred.
  3. Knowledge of all aspects of organizational development and organizational effectiveness, preferably within the health sector, including adult learning methodologies, change management, leadership practices, and related models and concepts.
  4. Demonstrated current knowledge of organizational development principles, models, and philosophies.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation.
  6. Experience interpreting and embedding organizational strategies and policies.
  7. Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  8. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, including consultative and coaching.
  9. Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health offer a competitive salary range of $40.15 - $50.19 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
