About the Opportunity

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Educational Assistant (EA) on a casual supply list. This role involves replacing absent EAs on an as-needed basis or for short-term assignments in both elementary and secondary English and French Immersion Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with diverse needs, including behavior, safety, medical, and physical needs
  • Perform duties such as lifting, toileting, positioning, and transferring children and equipment
  • Apply Behavior Management Systems (BMS) techniques as required
  • Work with students individually and/or in group settings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school Principal
Requirements
  • Education: Educational Assistant Diploma, or a combination of formal education and work experience deemed equivalent by the Board
  • Post-Secondary Degree in a related field of study
  • Valid Behavior Management Systems certification
  • Proven ability and recent experience working with students with special needs and behavioral disabilities
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
  • Lifting/Positioning Training
  • Flexibility, patience, empathy, and ability to work closely with students, classroom teachers, parents, and Administration
  • Ability to perform essential physical duties of the position
  • Access to a reliable method of transportation
