We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Learning Tree Academy.

Job Summary

The Early Childhood Educator Assistant will work under the supervision of experienced early childhood educators to provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment, supporting the development of children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve program goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess children's development and create individualized learning plans to support their growth and development.
  • Assist in the implementation of child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs and activities that promote children's learning and development.
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts to promote their cognitive and social development.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Work setting: Day care centre or nursery school.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail.
  • Personal suitability: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability.
