Job Description

**Job Title:** Academic Instructor

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Instructor to join our team at Ontario Tech University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and deliver a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments.
  • Prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments.
  • Be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.
  • Meet the requirements of the collective agreement between the University and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC).

**Qualifications:**

  • A Master's degree in education, with a focus on psychology, special education, or related subject area is required.
  • A member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers is an asset.
  • A PhD is an asset.

**Required Experience:**

  • Successful teaching at the pre-service and/or K-12 level.
  • Successful infusion of technologies in practice as purposeful teaching tools for, as, and of learning in the classroom.
  • Demonstrated evidence-based, research-informed practice.
  • Successful teaching incorporating an LMS, fully online learning platforms.
  • Success in building learning communities.

**Additional Requirements:**

  • Candidates will be required to certify that they are currently legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the contract.
