Job Description

Job Title: Academic Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Instructor to teach a course at Ontario Tech University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and a proven track record of delivering high-quality instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a course that meets the needs of students and aligns with the university's academic standards.
  • Prepare and grade all course materials and assignments.
  • Provide feedback to students and respond to their inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the field and incorporate new ideas and technologies into the course.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to achieve academic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education or equivalent.
  • Undergraduate degree in a scientific field related to chemistry/physics.
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • PhD in education or a related field is an asset.

Experience:

  • Successful experience teaching science and chemistry/physics at the grades 7-12 and/or pre-service levels.
  • Experience with technology integration in teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated evidence-based or research-informed practice.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced academic environment and will be expected to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
