Mental Health Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide mental health services directly in the school community environment within the designated SchoolsPlus family of schools.
The SchoolsPlus Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for:
- Providing mental health services to preschoolers, children, and adolescents within a mental health setting
- Screening for, assessing, and conceptualizing common childhood mental health disorders (ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavior disorders)
- Implementing evidence-based treatment plans for children and adolescents
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Developing effective linkages with other health, justice, education, social service, and community agencies as needed
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work, current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, and a minimum of two years' experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents.

- Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals
- Knowledge of the DSM-IV-5 and ability to use it to screen for, assess, and conceptualize common childhood mental health disorders

Hours and CompensationThis is a temporary full-time position with a salary of $49.04 per hour. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
