Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team providing services to children and adolescents with mental health disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, intervening, and consulting with clients, as well as providing collaborative treatment planning and supervision of behavioral interventionists. The ideal candidate will have advanced training and experience in child and adolescent mental health, with a strong background in assessment, intervention, and consultation. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Psychologist who is passionate about working with children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Psychology from an educational institution acceptable to the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP), with registration or eligibility to register with NSBEP. They will also have advanced training and experience in child and adolescent mental health, with a strong background in assessment, intervention, and consultation. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in behavior management, cognitive behavior therapy, group therapy for children and adolescents, and brief therapy models. They will also have experience in crisis and suicide risk assessment and intervention, as well as providing supervision.
HoursThis is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $37.31 - $49.04 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage. They will also be eligible for a defined benefit pension plan.
