Seeking a Mental Health Clinician to provide services in a school community environment, working with children and adolescents to identify and address mental health disorders.

We're looking for a skilled clinician to join our team, working in a collaborative model that brings together health, education, and social services to support children and families. The successful candidate will provide mental health services directly in the school community, working with a multidisciplinary team to identify and address mental health disorders in children and adolescents.

About the Role
  • Provide mental health services to children and adolescents in a school community environment
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to identify and address mental health disorders
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for children and adolescents
  • Screen for concurrent mental health disorders and substance use
  • Assess family functioning and implement family-based interventions as needed
  • Coordinate linkages with other health, education, and social services as needed
About You
  • Masters degree in Social Work
  • Current registration with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers or eligible to be registered
  • Minimum two years' experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents
  • Knowledge of the DSM-IV-5 and ability to use it to screen for and assess common childhood mental health disorders
  • Demonstrated diagnostic experience and ability to implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Hours and Compensation
  • Temporary Full Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately 12 months
  • $49.04 hourly
